BAGHDAD / .. revealed to the Security and Defense Committee in Parliament, Sunday, demand for most of the blocks to postpone the vote on the Law of the National Guard for six additional months.
The committee member said Majid Ghraoui for “Eye Iraq News”, that “today’s meeting, which included the presidency of the Parliament and the Commission on Security and heads of the blocks came from in order to know the existence of political consensus to pass the National Guard Law”, noting that “there are significant disagreements about the law, including the legal differences” .
And between Ghraoui that “most of the audience demanded to postpone the vote on the law for six months, until the security stability in the country and the creation of the Iraqi security forces in the ministries of defense, interior and then vote on the National Guard.”
The board of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, met on Sunday, in the presence of all its members with the Commission on Security and Defense and the heads of parliamentary blocs and their representatives, to discuss the draft law of the National Guard and discuss its provisions and the most important points in it before being submitted to parliament for a vote.
