Announced in the coalition of Kurdish blocs in the Iraqi parliament member, (Saturday), the Kurdistan region will not waive his constitutional right to export oil from its territory, despite the initial agreement with the federal government’s approval to make the region of 150 thousand barrels of oil per day at the disposal of Baghdad.
Kurdish Deputy Secretary Baker explained that what was agreed upon and the oil minister in the federal government, Adel Abdul Mahdi, with the northern region of Iraq officials, last week, is just a ‘preliminary on a number of sticking points between the two sides’ agreement’.
He added that the agreement ‘does not eliminate the right to export oil in the region, and the region will maintain its right to export until the parties to reach a final version of the legislation included a new law on oil and gas shall be binding on all parties to abide by its terms and its application’.
The MP pointed out that the region did not undertake during the negotiations held with the Minister of Oil parting with the idea of exporting the oil, being a ‘constitutional entitlement guaranteed by Article 112 of the Iraqi constitution,’ he said, adding that the $ 500 million approved Baghdad on the disbursement of the territory is a precedent benefits for companies oil producers in the region.
