Iraq officially receives from Washington the first F-16 aircraft

Baghdad – and babysit – delivered to Iraq, the first plane F – U.S. 16 out of 36 aircraft contracted by Iraq to support the Iraqi forces in the face of terrorism.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Iraqi side of the National Security Adviser Faleh al-Fayad and Ambassador Luqman Alfeli and military attache Brigadier Ali al-Araji, while the Iraqi ambassador pointed out that before the end of 2014, Iraq will receive four other aircraft
He described the Iraqi ambassador in Washington, Luqman Alfeli, the receipt of the first military aircraft and a sophisticated multi-tasking as “an important milestone in the history of military cooperation between Iraq and the United States.”
He added, “These aircraft will enhance the shared commitment between Iraq and the United States in the areas of security, democracy and the eradication of terrorism.”
The Alfeli, that “36 F-16s contracted by Iraq will boost capacity in the Iraqi air Border Protection in the fight against terrorism,” adding that he “will arrive in Iraq soon, the first squadron of F-16s.”
He explained that “four new fighter aircraft will be transported to Iraq before the end of the year 2014,” noting that “Iraq is working to complete the processing base Balad, north of Baghdad flights to receive new fighter jets.”
