He Babiker said the agreement specified that the objectives of the Council, which is witnessing its first meeting today to observe and monitor trade and investment relations and identify opportunities to expand the areas of trade, investment and other issues such as intellectual property rights and issues related to the work environment and to identify existing obstacles in front of the movement of trade and investment and work to remove them and give the role of the private sector to contribute to the activation and development of multilateral cooperation.
He pointed out that the Iraqi side was keen to represent most of the sectors of the Iraqi economy, the government and private sectors in this council in order to take the leading role and leadership towards the activation and development and expansion of bilateral trade and investment to rise to the level of the relationship Alasttratejah between Iraq and the United States and governed by this Convention and other relevant conventions.
The statement said: that the Minister of Trade accept it during his speech as well as the stages in the way of Iraq to join the World Trade Organization.
It is noted that the fundamentals of the agenda of the Council to develop and promote trade and investment in all sectors, especially the banking sector and the industrial sector, agriculture and infrastructure in addition to the agreement the two sides on the formation of working groups take it upon themselves to follow up the implementation of the decisions of the Council for the benefit of the two countries. / End / / 22
