This was all taken care of and the cards were activated in groupings. The activations began on 8/1 and I have been told yesterday that all the groupings are now done.

And as well, we just talked extensively…about the IMF directive and support of the CBI to “liberalize the foreign exchange” market…which will initiate the float.

I am sure they don’t want to wait 6-12 months for the dinar to reach 1 to $1 or about, since their own economy is much further ahead of the rest of Iraq. But, it appears that the float is coming and that is what will occur. I don’t see any change in Maliki policy or some “sudden” desire to give “overnight” value to dinar. He knows he has to go international to get private investment for the success of the free market economy, IMO, is he doing the minimal he needs to accomplish that..which is a float and acceptance of IMF Article VIII.

8-5-2013 Intel Guru TNT Tony I got a call over the weekend saying the Qi Cards were activated…the cards went live…contractors, widows, retirees, the kurdistan region…how can some be at different levels? How could one region be at 3.44 and rest 1166. It’s not our country, we don’t get to dictate how it works. They have been using them all weekend, they have changed the prices in the market…each one is at $3.44. Did they have an RV? Evidently they did.<–BS!

They have a rate in Iraq of $3.44 & international rate will be higher. [What is your best guess about the VND?] Somewhere between .50 and $1. But, I know the ceiling rate is over $1.<–BS!

8-5-2013 Intel Guru TNT Tony Banks said it was to go last night 12 Midnight. They’re as frustrated as we are. Some procedures have changed. We will have 30 days to do this. This is a situation like any other country. They can discontinue the 3 zero notes when they decide. People want to apply US laws, and it does NOT work this way. I am looking at the document. It is signed and it is done – they are changing the rules and they want this to be done in a short time. I got this from a Government agency.
