Baghdad (newsletter).The Special Representative welcomed the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Martin Kobler, Iraqi political leaders ‘ meeting called by the Chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim.
The mission said in a statement received (News Agency) a copy of: the meeting was attended by Vice-President of the Republic khudair Al-khuzai, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, Parliament Speaker Osama Al-nujaifi, as well as many political and parliamentary figures and religious.
Kobler said: to engage in a frank and constructive dialogue between all Iraqi leaders is the only way to bring Iraq out of the current political crisis, stressing the need to maintain the positive momentum of the reconciliation initiative ‘.
He added: the United Nations has repeatedly called on to encourage dialogue, and expressed his hope that yesterday’s meeting will take decisive action to end the political differences in the interest of Iraq and the Iraqi people.
