{Baghdad: Euphrates News} visited the commander of U.S. Central Command, Gen. Lloyd Austin, the capital, Baghdad, and discussed cooperation frameworks between the United States and Iraq in the field of defense and regional security issues.
According to a statement issued by the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, received the whole {Euphrates News} copy of it on Thursday, “The commander of the U.S. Central Command, General, Lloyd Austin, visited the capital, Baghdad, and discussed cooperation frameworks between the United States and Iraq in the field of defense and regional security issues, as discussion touched on the overall situation in Syria. ”
He added that “Gen. Austin met with a number of Iraqi officials, led by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Defense Minister Saadoun al-Dulaimi Agency and National Security Adviser Falah al-Fayyad and Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Armed Forces Lieutenant General Babacar Zebari.”
The statement noted that “the general and through his meetings stressed the efforts made by the United States in the framework of the Strategic Framework Agreement in order to support democratic development in Iraq, also stressed the role and contributions of Iraq in establishing peace and security in the region.”
He added that “Austin and during his visit he also met with the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Beecroft, and the new president of the U.S. Embassy Office of Security Cooperation Group John Bednarik.” Ended
