Mutlaq seeks to rally Arab support to succeed Talabani

According to a source close to the National Dialogue Front, said the visit of Prime Front Saleh al-Mutlaq to some Arab countries come to rally support, after the recent agreement between him and Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on assuming the presidency of the Republic, confirming the presence of consensus in principle on that.

Said the source, who declined to be named, “said al-Mutlaq and al-Maliki had agreed to take the first presidency of the Republic alternative to the current president, Jalal Talabani,” pointing to the travel-Mutlaq to neighboring countries to rally support for his candidacy. He added that there is a near consensus on the pay-Mutlaq presidency, noting that the Iraqi constitution and provides compatibility to take the Kurdistan Alliance presidency for two after he takes office personal belonging to the Sunni community.
