3-27-2013 Newshound Guru Adam Montana First, no change in the value at this time. There is no official announcement on a change this week, despite what some…saw on a screen. Second, no change in Chapter 7 or HCL. In fact, this week has been surprisingly slow and quiet for news on those two matters… but if you’ve been following this topic for any amount of time, you will probably understand that Iraq ebbs and flows. Many times we see a flurry of articles for a week or two… and then silence. The bottom line is that we don’t need to freak out when there is a week or so of silence. It’s just the natural way things move over there. Although there wasn’t anything big to discuss over the last week or so, it’s only a short matter of time before things pick back up. Although not much was done this last few days, an old adage comes to mind… sometimes, no news is good news.

Their intent when they created the new currency is to make the Iraqi dinar a tradable currency around the planet so that everyone can use the dinar as a reserve, relevant outside the oil industry. They will not have an in country revaluation. They are controlling, they are going from a dirty float to a managed float. They need to manage the money supply in order to get in to the dollar range and then once they do that they can get in to the $3 range. You are actually watching policy, it’s managed. Their intent is to raise the value of the dinar.

Has there ever been a RV like what we’re expecting? Of course not!!! Did Kuwait RV the same way we’re hoping Iraq will? Of course not!!! Previously there have been 14 episodes where a country’s real and nominal effective exchange rate appreciated by 10% or more without discretionary adjustments of the parity by the government (over a two-year window or less), leading to sustained real effective appreciation.

3-27-2013 Newshound Guru SWFloridaGuy This is a very unique opportunity (obviously), but for a historic precedence let’s take a look at 1960-Present Day, there have been 25 episodes of large nominal and real appreciations. If you solely look at historic large currency appreciations, even a 20% increase, runs the risk of having negative long term effects. A 100,000% increase is not even something regarded as possible by most economists. However, this obviously why we are all here, what we all have come to recognize & what makes this opportunity in Iraq a unique situation!! So, stay positive friends and I will as well. Lol, lol but when i am this excited i am even worse about it. its all my fault but you better be happy about it. the people sharing with me are friends and i assure yu what they are saying is fact as they have been told to date. If this thing blows up again it will not be because they told us a bunch of bull in fact they don’t know one another and are in three separate parts of america and two are in iraq. What is being said is being said the same in all locations and all are saying the same thing within 48 hours of the same deadline for the blessing . Now thats as plain as i can say anything more about why i am so excited…48 hours from seeing the end of the road.

3-26-2013 Newshound Guru Stryker Well they did it again, the Kurds said they were going to be in attendance in the parliament all the way up until the last minute yesterday and then an announcement came out from them saying that they would decide within 48 hours. I thought something was up but I said we would just need to wait and see, early this morning we found out, no Kurds showed up in parliament today. It was almost like they said they would be there for the last few days so another majority could not be formed to vote around them again, surely they wouldn’t do that, right?

We have heard from the IMF in the past, the World Bank in the past, or the UN or USAID, EU and others, but I do not recall ever, that these are all coming forward at the same time. This seems truly to be a real unified approach to get Iraq to move forward now.
