Political analyst Sabah al-Akeeli confirmed on Saturday that the details of the meeting between Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York remain undisclosed, indicating that it is still shrouded in mystery and the subject of widespread political and public speculation.
Al-Akeeli told the Information Agency, “High-level discussions conducted by the Prime Minister necessitate informing the Cabinet and Parliament of the most prominent issues discussed, or at least briefing the relevant political leaders, especially if they involve sensitive security matters or specific political stances.”
He added, “The US President’s private meeting with al-Zaidi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings recently, without clearly disclosing the details of the meeting, has raised suspicions among political and public circles in the country.”
