Bilal al-Nasiri, a member of the State of Law Coalition, criticized the delay in finalizing the cabinet despite the nominations being submitted to Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi for presentation to Parliament for a vote.
Al-Nasiri told Al-Maalouma, “Managing ministerial positions through acting appointments or assigning duties to other ministers has created pressure on the government, necessitating the swift completion of the cabinet after this long wait.”
He added, “Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi has received the nominees for the remaining ministerial portfolios, including those from the State of Law Coalition, and all that remains is to submit the cabinet to Parliament for a vote on the remaining positions.”
He explained that “the process of completing the cabinet has been subject to much postponement and procrastination, and it is now unclear whether the cabinet can be finalized after September 30th, despite parliamentary and political demands to expedite the submission of the nominees for a vote.”
