Salah Boushi, a member of the State of Law Coalition, confirmed on Thursday that discussions are still ongoing regarding several names and ministerial portfolios concerning the completion of the cabinet. He indicated that reviewing or replacing some nominations remains possible if political consensus or parliamentary procedures necessitate it.
Boushi told the Information Agency, “The priority at this stage is to arrive at names capable of managing the ministries efficiently and responsibly, and for the selection process to be conducted according to clear criteria, avoiding obstruction or entering into a comprehensive renegotiation of the government formation.”
He added, “The possibility of finalizing the cabinet in the coming period exists, but it requires political will and responsible understanding, because the continued vacancy of some ministries does not serve the stability of government work and is incompatible with the requirements of the current stage.”
Bushi explained that “disagreements on some issues are normal in political work, but these differences must remain within the framework of understanding and dialogue, and not become an impediment to completing the state institutions.” He pointed out that the public interest requires expediting the filling of the vacant ministerial posts.
He clarified that “if the public interest necessitates changing some names, this should be to facilitate the completion of the cabinet and the selection of the most competent individuals, not to reopen political negotiations from scratch.” He noted that the government needs a complete ministerial team capable of fulfilling its responsibilities.
Bushi emphasized that “a ministerial position is a national responsibility, not a political reward,” stressing the need for the selection of ministers to be based on ability and competence to ensure the stability of government work and the completion of state institutions.
