The Media and Communications Commission announced on Tuesday (September 22, 2026) that the first batch of Starlink devices will be launched for users in Iraq in the next few days, after the completion of all customs procedures and tax transactions.
The commission stated in a statement issued by the Media and Government Communication Office that it continues to follow up on the issue of the company’s suspended shipments of devices in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and the relevant authorities, with the aim of accelerating the arrival of the devices to the Iraqi market and users.
The authority explained that “the delay in some shipments of devices was not related to its procedures, but rather to Starlink’s completion of the requirements of the Skoda system,” noting that the company completed all legal, customs and tax requirements during the past week.
The statement added that the head of the executive body of the authority, Baligh Abu Kalal, had previously discussed with the Minister of Finance, Faleh Sari, strengthening coordination with the General Authority of Customs and simplifying the procedures for the entry of communication devices and equipment that meet the conditions, in order to contribute to accelerating their entry, protecting the market and reducing equipment that violates specifications.
The authority confirmed that addressing the legal and procedural frameworks has put the file for the entry of “Starlink” devices on the right track, which will contribute to the smooth and rapid arrival of future shipments to users.
