the statement quoted members of the Security Council that the Committee of Financial Experts of Iraq, which would take over supervision of the proceeds Development Fund for Iraq, instead of body control and counseling international, exercise Authority in accordance with the terms of reference approved by the Iraqi government earlier this year.
stressed the Security Council, according to the statement, the need for the Iraqi government “to ensure that the proceeds from the sale of oil will be used for the benefit of the Iraqi people, as well as ensure that the arrangements the transition process compatible with the Constitution international practices better, out of respect for the principles of transparency, accountability and integrity. ”
The Security Council has issued a decision to establish a Development Fund for Iraq in May 2003, a month after the U.S. invasion, so the deposit proceeds from the sale of oil in this fund, instead of the “oil for food” , and which allowed the former regime using some of the proceeds for humanitarian purposes. / end / 20 /
