Since 1960 there have been 25 episodes of large nominal and real appreciations (granted not in the range of what we’re hoping for). If you solely look at historic large currency appreciations, even a 20% increase, runs the risk of having negative long term effects. A 100,000% increase is by far the most aggressive approach every undertaken, if indeed that is the plan, be that long-term of short-term. But I also believe that if any country could ever pull this off, it is Iraq.

We’re just unaware of how they will go about achieving this. …there’s never been such an opportune time/situation for a historical appreciation of this magnitude to take place. They have many options on how to accomplish returning value to their currency. Some avenues are quicker than others. But I really do believe it will be sooner rather than later because judging by all they are trying to accomplish right now, going international in the fairly short-term, appears to be in their best interest (as well as ours of course).

4-4-2013 Newshound Guru Enorrste Article: “CBI doubles quotas remittance companies and foreign currency banking at a bank auction” Although the translation of these articles leaves a lot to be desired it appears to be indicating that the “quotas” for banks in Iraq are being raised in order to allow them to handle larger foreign currency transactions. There may be several reasons for this that I am not aware of, but the most important one that comes to mind is that the CBI is EXPECTING that the banks will be in need of additional funds in order to handle the transactions. It is therefore doubling the “quota” to allow for a better managed situation overall.

4-4-2013 Newshound Guru Enorrste This brings to my mind the following question: Why would they be expecting a need of this nature that would require a doubling of their “quotas”? The answer to that may be that they are about to open the doors to international financial transactions with the dinar. If that is the case it would explain the doubling of the quotas, so that the banks would be ready for increased foreign currency traffic (into and out of the dinar). Therefore, it seems to me that this is very good news indeed. Of course my understanding of this may be incorrect, but I can’t seem to come up with any better explanation for a doubling of quotas over a short 2 day period.

4-4-2013 Newshound/Intel Guru BGG Article: “Parliament: Hosting will switch to questioning in the event of failure to attend al-Maliki Monday’s session” This just shows how the level of interest Parliament is taking in dealing with their “Maliki problem”. As I said a few days ago…they have put off their proceedings against Maliki (in whatever form) for a few days in hopes of him concluding what he has apparently agreed to. They too, are ready to “turn up the heat” if he doesn’t sit up and act right.

4-4-2013 Intel Guru OCrush Are laws past or not. Last weeks laws that were past are still a no show. The Justice Ministry announced the release but NO gazette has been seen. Not even in the designated areas. I asked my cousin to check the recent holiday law that falls under the ministry of culture for the flag or anthem law. It was passed recently but there was no publication in the gazette. The Justice announced it but where is it the ministry of oil is asking. All this cloak and dagger, I wonder what’s up;)) The constitutional law is very specific and someone will pay the piper or they need to act fast:)
