3-9-2013 Newshound Guru Tlar Article: “Maliki: National Alliance will continue to adopt laws by majority political” although nobody can accurately predict the future, I don’t believe the Kurds will go against or pull away from Iraq. The 3 sects unfortunately are tied together and as they jockey for position one thing has become clear. The people have a voice in their government. The one thing about democracy that stands out is that the people of Iraq have effectively learned to demonstrate and protest. This is a primary tool of democracy. It mostly does not exist in totalitarian systems because the governments can’t tolerate this tool. Either the people protesting are slaughtered or there is a complete rebellion as in Syria. The shear fact that tool is being used, gives me great hope that their is a future for Iraq’s fledgling democracy.
3-9-2013 Newshound Guru Kaperoni Article: “Member, Committee on the economy warns Iraq’s accession to the World Trade Organization in the absence of local product” They make a valid point wanting Iraq to wait until they are “exporters” But under the current situation, IMO, I think allowing Iraq full accession will help them in the transition.

The focus has clearly shifted in making the economic development the top priority. “There are no objective reasons to fear of falling value of Iraqi dinar at the current stage because of foreign cash reserves. The power of the Iraqi dinar and monetary value depends on the strength of the country’s economy and the extent of recovery sectors generating income and not on auction CBI. Directed oil revenues towards the development of other economic sectors to contribute to strengthening the economy and **RAISE THE VALUE OF THE CURRENCY.**” Now obviously this is not a simple matter but we do see what they are working so hard towards and what the final outcome they aspire to accomplish.
3-8-2013 Newshound Guru Guardian i was going to post something about the IMF and Iraq…here it goes: “The Iraq IMF Standby Arrangement, Second Review ended February 23, 2013, but the extension, which had been requested by the Iraqi authorities, provided them with time to implement the policy measures needed to complete the combined third and fourth reviews under the SBA. The extension did, in particular, provide time for discussions on fiscal policies for the remainder of 2012 and on measures to improve the functioning of the exchange regime.” so they are on the combined 3rd and 4th Reviews if i’m reading it right, are currently in the 3rd and 4th… it was only a transition on February 23, 2013, not an end but the END of the Second Review…many thought it was a final ending.
3-8-2013 Intel Guru Bear5642 I do not feel we will see the RV just because they have passed the budget. There is still some unfinished business to take care [of]. I wanted to note 2 people that I feel are spot on; the Wife in the Know and Eagle1… I firmly believe this event will take place and we have seen some progress with Iraq. We need to just relax and know that a lot is hinged on the RV of the IQD and it will be a once in a lifetime event. I know with all of my heart the IQD will revalue.
3-8-2013 Newshound Guru Bondlady look for the major basket of laws we seek to move along quickly now since they have pretty much slashed the “give me what i want or we won’t pass the laws quotah system” they used for last 2 years to stop progress. iraq is so slow to get these things but we really have been on total target on it all which i’m very glad about to see what we’ve said for years finally happen, well I am a happy camper. when parliament comes back…to work on the 19th…they will begin passing the rest of the laws they need to make the budget work…hcl was already agreed and amended. hcl was sent to the house for a vote but they wouldn’t do it until the budget was passed and now its passed.

I am curious because on this journey it seems that over the years there were so many things in hindsight that had to happen.] Let me put it this way…In the last 10 years I have been with the IQD…This is the first year I have seen mandates to lift the value become a reality with the GOI. CBI has been waiting for this progress…Like You and I for such a long time.

3-8-2013 Intel Guru OCrush In conclusion the budget is passed…done deal. Parliament has completed there task and now it falls to the ministries. They will complete there audit, pass it to the cabinet, they will approve it and get it published. The Kurds will have there audits but make no mistake this budget is done. We should start seeing the laws that were passed get published. They needed the budget to pass first before they made these laws (infrastructure, trade, banking and so on) official in the Gazette.
3-8-2013 Intel Guru OCrush We were busy this morning reviewing the budget and scanning through Kurdish Media (his end). Now, we see the Kurds are threatening to take and dispute some of the articles in the CG’s passed budget. The one thing we noticed, the media is not telling us this will be observed by the Federal court. The passed budget already has provisions put in it for audits…it’s all written in the budget law, they just want the Federal Court to supervise and give there approval as a third party. The Kurds want a fair outcome.
