2-18-2013 Newshound Guru L. J. John Kerry is sending a delegation of 6 people to the Kurdistan Region to try to figure this out. That is to happen next week. I don’t look for anything with the budget or anything being done before these guys get there. But, it’s not about the budget, it’s really about the meetings that are taking place there. The laws are already on the books. They have no President to sign them, so they can’t be ratified. They have to make a decision if Talabani can’t continue with his duties, they have to switch him out with someone from the Kurdistan region and get that done really quickly. They are working diligently to find a solutions the problem.

There is no such thing as the budget having anything to do with the change in the value of the dinar. That’s my belief. Barzani is working extremely hard to get a consensus among the political leaders in Iraq to move forward. Do I think they will get it done before the 28th? No, they have a hard time meeting deadlines. There have been discussions that have included Allawi taking over as President. Allawi has already said he can’t take the office of the President, he can’t represent the Presidency because he is of the Iraqi List. There is no such thing as a person from the Iraqi List getting the Presidency. But, they keep trying to figure it out.

2-17-2013 Intel Guru OCrush The Republic of Iraq will join the wto team in FULL:))) This is exciting because…they need a tradeable currency to be full participants without special conditions being placed as full members. This way countries will do business with them without them worrying if they are going to get paid. This will also open the door for Iraq to place themselves into the IMF’s article xiii;)) We also know the IMF’s sa [Standby Agreement] ends Feb. 23. We have the Wto, IMF sa expiring, new Barzani initiative, history making budget…yes, it’s ALL GOOD:))
2-17-2013 Intel Guru OCrush It seems there will be a training session taking place in Turkey on a Multilateral trading system. The training will involve close to 100 iraqis (ministers, institutions, public officials from trade, education, finance and so on). This training is for 5 days in Turkey and it starts February 25 – March 1:)) The training will also guide them to what responsibilities they will have being full members of the wto. We believe just before the training starts, the wto will assend Iraq to full membership.
2-17-2013 Intel/Newshound Guru Poppy3 I know from the State Department that they were anticipating that everything was to be taken care of by Wednesday of this week as far as Maliki is concerned, that he was to be stalemated or nullified as far as his power. If they are going there to finalize alleviating his power, than I’m excited. I’m very positive as to what I’m hearing, but I’m very cautious as to how I read it. With this dinar situation, I don’t see anything that can delay it long term, everything is short term, everything can be decided and implemented short term.
2-17-2013 Newshound/Intel Guru BGG There are significant meetings going on to discuss some kind of replacement for Maliki. Now when is that, I don’t know what that will look like. I fully expect this noise about Maliki being replaced probably is real. What comes of it, that’s another story. I alluded to the fact that I’m looking to hear some big news in the next several days, this is probably the start of that news. If Maliki is left in there as he is today, until there is a change in the power structure, there will be no change in the currency. Recently things are changing rapidly and that’s just awsome news for us. There is some more good news coming up in the next 24 – 48 hours…earth shattering news…you can pretty much look for it. I can’t guarantee what that news is, but it’s going to be big. All of the news happenings is spectacular.

By process of elimination we might be able to ferret out the culprit or party. It’s not the US. It’s not Barzini. Most likely it is not elements of Iraqiya. It is probably not Sadr because there would be nothing to be gained by it. I don’t think it would be sponsored by any government like Jordan, Turkey, Syria, Qatar or Saudia Arabia. Hmmm, that leaves only 2 suspects that might have tried to kill Allawi. Maliki and the Dawa party or terrorists. I vote for the worst amongst these two choices – Maliki.
2-17-2013 Newshound Guru LoriC Great news about the HCL today. It’s looks like we’re getting really close to seeing the amended HCL passed FINALLY!! Here’s one of a few articles released today: “Political blocs agree on the Announced the decision of the Commission Deputy oil and energy/Kurdistan blocs Coalition/Kassim Mohamed Qassem, a positive political movement among the parliamentary blocs agreed to pass a draft oil and gas law legislation in the House of representatives.”
2-17-2013 Intel Guru SteveI First of all, it is not over just quite yet but pretty darn close. Actually close enough to almost call it done and over like [Wife in the Know] said. I do strongly believe it will be very shortly, however a few more days seem to be looking better and better. I am hoping to share more late Sunday or Monday on the status of things that we are aware of that need to be completed yet. Now, I absolutely agree with her timing…spot on if you ask me…When I give my last advice, that will be one you can take to the bank. Is it possible to be nervous and excited at the same time?
