(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Kurdish leader Mam Rustam, announced on Monday, nomination for the presidency of the Kurdistan region during the upcoming presidential elections for the region.
“The Kurdish leader Mam Rustam decided to run for the presidency of the Kurdistan region,” said Sirwan Baban, director of Rostam’s work, noting that “the latter will follow the necessary legal procedures in the coming days to run for the presidency of the region.”
Mam Rustam is one of the founders of the Kurdish Change Movement, a prominent Kurdish political and military figure.
The Electoral Commission and the referendum in the Kurdistan region on 14 August 2017 officially prepared for the presidential and parliamentary elections in the region on the first of November next. Ended
