{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The House of Representatives decided, on Tuesday, to set a date for the questioning of the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, based on a request submitted by a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Faleh Al-Sari, while MPs affirmed their fears of disrupting the completion of the interrogation process with political will.
In a letter to the House of Representatives secretariat to the Central Bank, the Euphrates News Agency obtained a copy of it informing the governor of the date of his interrogation “based on the questioning request submitted by {Faleh Sari}, and for the constitutional and legal conditions to be met in the request in accordance with Article {61 / Seventh / C} of the constitution And Article {27 / Fourth} and Article 31 of Parliament Law and Formations No. 13 of 2018, and Article 58 of its bylaws, the Presidency of the Council of Representatives decided that the interrogation of the Governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb, will take place on Wednesday January 27/2021.
It is noteworthy that the head of the Parliamentary Wisdom Bloc, Faleh Al-Sari, is seeking to question the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb, because the House of Representatives was not convinced of the answers provided during its hosting last November, and collected signatures to submit a request to question the governor.
Al-Sari said to the Euphrates on the 20th of last month, “The criteria set by the central bank governor set the country with financial crises, and we have objections and criticisms to his choice and performance,” indicating that “the answers of the central bank governor were not feasible with regard to raising the exchange rate.”
Al-Sari announced, on more than one occasion, that the interrogation had been completed, and that he had requested the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, to set a date for it.

He added, “We were informed by the guards that he (al-Khuwailidi) traveled to Lebanon and his family to the province of Najaf and we asked for the address, as he refused to provide us with the address, and the number of the injured person who provided us with the private nursing home was called by the director of the public health department.”
He pointed out that “the response was that the family is in the province of Najaf and he was asked to provide us with the full address to send a team for the purpose of follow-up. We were not provided with the address and the line was closed.”
The Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, had directed the Ministry of Health to send a detachment to confirm that the head of the Executive Body of the Media and Communications Authority, Ali Al-Khuwailidi, had been infected with the Corona virus or not.
Al-Halbousi said during a session that “the presidency of the council will verify the validity of the medical report that was received about the health status of the head of the executive body of the Media and Communications Authority, and the government and the Ministry of Health will be addressed, and its institutions bear any document issued against a person accountable to the House of Representatives.”
