Al-Nasr’s coalition led by former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi denied his support for any candidate for prime minister, stressing that the national interest requires a government independent of the mentality, will of acquisition, and party allocation.
The coalition said in a statement today: “The victory coalition officially denies its support for any candidate for prime minister, and it is not concerned with the race of forces to nominate any figure for this site.”

He added, “Victory is the first to propose the resignation of the current government and the formation of a government independent of the parties to lead the interim phase. Since the beginning of the October Uprising and victory, it has presented more than a comprehensive initiative and a roadmap for change and reform in line with the aspirations of the people and the foundations of good governance.”

He explained that “the victory coalition, which did not sign the formation of the current government and did not participate in it and demanded its dismissal for its failure to run the country, affirmed and reaffirmed that it is not a reward for nominating or choosing any future government.”

He continued, “The national interest requires a government independent of the mentality and will of acquisition and partisan quotas, and that the most important of the personality of the Prime Minister are the standards and tasks expected from the interim phase, at the forefront:

(Commitment to a clear road map and specific time limits for making the change by implementing justice, holding the perpetrators accountable, and confining arms to the state. And the restoration of stability and societal peace, the liberation of the Iraqi will and decision from any interference, and guarantees of the fairness of laws and procedures related to the final stage, foremost of which are free elections).
