The rise in the monthly and annual inflation index in IraqToday, Sunday, the Ministry of Planning announced that the inflation index for the month of June increased by 0.7%, and the annual rate by 6.5 %.

And the Ministry’s Central Statistics Agency said in a report that “the monthly inflation index for the month of June rose by 0.7% compared to the previous month,” noting that “the annual inflation index also rose by 6.5% compared to the same month of 2020. ”

He added that “the rise came as a result of a rise in housing prices by 2.1% due to the rise in generator subscription fees in most governorates of Iraq by 15.9%, fuel prices by 0.6% and rental prices by 0.2 %.

The agency indicated that “the restaurants and hotels department also recorded an increase of 1.5%, while the entertainment and culture department recorded an increase of 1%,” noting that “the department of miscellaneous goods and services recorded an increase of 0.8 %.”

The Central Bureau of Statistics had announced earlier last month that the monthly inflation for the month of May increased by 0.7% and the annual rate by 4.3%.
