Today, Thursday, the State of Law coalition called on the House of Representatives to hold an extraordinary session to take the decision to close the American embassy in Baghdad, while criticizing the silence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the dangerous statements of the American ambassador.
The leader of the State of Law Coalition, Ibrahim Al-Sakini, said in an interview with the Al-Ma’louma Agency, “The ministry is required to state its position on the violations of the American ambassador, whether she is unable to respond,” noting that “the recent statements and violations made by the Washington administration require an end to the interventions and presence.” “All Americans are inside Iraq.”
He added, “What are the justifications for field visits by many high-ranking government positions,” pointing out that “the Foreign Ministry’s silence regarding the dangerous statements of the American ambassador is one of the reasons for its continued violations.”
The leader of Al-Maliki’s coalition added: “The statements and behaviors made by the American ambassador in Iraq have not been seen by other ambassadors present in the country,” stressing that “it is necessary for the House of Representatives to hold an extraordinary session to take the decision to close the American embassy in Baghdad.”
The representative of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Ali Turki, confirmed in a previous statement to “Al-Ma’louma” that the American administration is still insisting on interfering in Iraqi affairs through the statements of its ministers or the interventions of the American ambassador in Baghdad by holding meetings with various executive and political figures outside of her diplomatic duties.
