The Japanese ambassador to Shafak News: Our companies will enter the Iraqi labor market, and we will implement projects and develop infrastructure

Shafaq News/ The Japanese ambassador to Iraq, Futoshi Matsumoto, announced on Monday that his country’s companies will enter the Iraqi labor market and invest in it.
Matsumoto told Shafaq News agency, “The embassy held several consultations with ministers and officials in the Iraqi government in order to open the door to investment, introduce Japanese companies to the Iraqi labor market, invest in many projects and develop the infrastructure.”
He explained that “Japanese companies are working on many projects in various fields, including in the field of oil, building electrical stations and establishing water treatment plants.”
The Japanese ambassador added, “We are currently working on investing in new projects through our meetings with ministers and officials in the Iraqi government.”
In April 2023, the Japanese ambassador to Baghdad, Futochi Matsumoto, expressed his country’s readiness to invest in silica sand projects in Iraq.
This came during his meeting with the head of the National Investment Commission, Haider Muhammad Makiya.
