The Iraqi Finance Department creates an “audit and control” department, and these are its divisions and objectives

Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministry of Finance decided, on Thursday, to create an “audit and internal control” department, which will be directly affiliated with the minister.
A government source told Shafaq News Agency, “One of the most important tasks of the department is to follow up on expenditures and funds spent in each department of the ministry, in addition to other oversight tasks in each department and complaints and reports of cases of corruption and suspicions.”
Shafaq News Agency obtained a ministerial order signed by the Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, including the creation of the department.
According to the ministerial order, the department consists of 5 departments: (the Oversight Department, the Audit Department, the Complaints Department, the Reports Department, and the Investigations Department).
The order indicates that “the audit and internal control departments in the formations affiliated with the Ministry will be linked to the Audit and Internal Control Department, and no employee may be transferred, placed, or held accountable except with the approval of the director of the department.”
