The coordinating framework forces threatened, on Wednesday, to boycott the Kurdish forces in the event that the Kurdistan Democratic Party insists on the nomination of Hoshyar Zebari for the presidency of the republic.
A member of the framework, Aid al-Hilali, told / the information /, that “the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, is putting great pressure on the Shiite blocs by nominating Hoshyar Zebari for the position of the presidency of the Iraqi republic, as he is stubborn to nominate Barham Salih for the position.”
He added, “The forces of the coordination framework and most of the other political blocs, such as the extension and radiance of Kanon and the new generation, decided to enter the next parliament session and vote for Barham Salih for the presidency in response to Barzani’s party’s nomination of Hoshyar Zebari.”
Al-Hilali explained, “The approval of the National Union on Zebari’s nomination will push the coordination framework to take the opposition against their candidate and to abandon the Kurdish parties.”
The Kurdistan Democratic Party had nominated, earlier, a member of the political bureau of the party, Hoshyar Zebari, for the post of the presidency.
