Member of the State of Law Coalition, Ibrahim Al-Sakini, considered today, Monday, the demands related to the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq to be constitutional and there is no justification for objecting to them.

Al-Sakini said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The Iraqi government is obligated to end the foreign presence in Iraq and must implement this as soon as possible,” indicating that “these demands are guaranteed by the constitution and there is no justification for objecting to them.”

He called on “the political forces to preserve the country’s sovereignty and reject any arbitrary presence within its territory, regardless of its type or form,” explaining that “Iraq’s sovereignty is one of the most important steps that must be implemented by the government during the coming period.”

He added that “the US administration will resort to many methods to influence the political process and tamper with Iraqi security if the decision to expel them from the country is implemented,” warning against “the continuation of these forces on Iraqi territory.”

Popular, political and tribal demands are increasing for the necessity of removing foreign forces, led by the US, from Iraq as soon as possible, warning at the same time of a dangerous escalation if they continue to violate the country’s sovereignty.
