Today, Tuesday, the member of the State of Law Coalition, Saad Al-Mutalibi, considered the meeting of the American ambassador with the Iraqi Chief Justice as a kind of apology and restoration of honor, while he confirmed that Barzani’s message to Washington was behind the recent attacks by members of Congress on the judiciary.

Al-Mutalibi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The Iraqi reaction to the statements of the member of Congress after he insulted the Iraqi judiciary forced the American side to apologize through the ambassador,” noting that “the meeting of the American ambassador with the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faeq Zidane, yesterday is considered a restoration of the prestige of the judiciary.”

He added, “The reason for the US Congress members’ attack on the judiciary is due to Masoud Barzani’s letter in which he called on the Americans to interfere in internal affairs,” noting that “Barzani’s upcoming visit will justify the reason for sending the letter and work to improve relations with the center for the sake of his party interests.”

It is noteworthy that the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zidane, received yesterday the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski. The meeting came after the US Congressman Waltz attacked the Iraqi judiciary.
