Political analyst Hashim Al-Haboubi said on Tuesday that selling the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives in exchange for three Iraqi ministries, which the Taqadum Party called for, is a disregard for the capabilities of the state and its departments.
Al-Haboubi said in a statement to the “Al-Ma’louma” agency, “Al-Halbousi is delusional about the so-called Sunni leadership, and he hastened to present himself as a leader of the Sunnis, which was evident in large financial spending,” stressing that “he will be held accountable under the law. He added, “The dismissed Al-Halbousi party’s adherence to candidate Shaalan Al-Karim may complicate the matter more than it already is, since Al-Karim is subject to accountability and justice, and a file containing data from the Fallujah demonstrations is being opened to him.”
It is noteworthy that the Taqadum Party announced earlier that the position of Speaker of Parliament had cost it 25 seats, which is equivalent to three ministries, demanding three ministries in exchange for selling the position to whomever of the Sunni parties wanted to buy it.
