Planning: high annual inflation rate was 2.8% at the beginning of the year
The Ministry of Planning for a very slight rise in the inflation index for the month of January / 0.6% / compared with last December.
The ministry said in a statement today that “the annual inflation rose / 2.8% / compared with January of 2012.”
The ministry noted that “the Central Bureau of Statistics completed the inflation report for the month of January 2013 which was prepared on the basis of field data collection on the prices of goods and services components of the consumer basket of selected sample of outlets in all governorates of Iraq.
It showed “that the general index of consumer prices reached / 141.3% / month in January 2013, recording an increase rate of 0.6% from the previous month at a rate of 2.8% compared with the month of January 2012
