Member of Parliament, Burhan Al-Mamouri, warned against selling the assets of the Iraqi state as stated in the 2021 budget, which returned it as a dangerous indicator of the country’s bankruptcy.
Al-Mamouri said in an interview that “the sale of state assets is a dangerous indication of the bankruptcy of the country,” indicating that “external agendas are behind the trend of selling state assets.”
He added that “the clause of selling state assets will benefit the corrupt,” stressing the need that “selling state assets is subject to the law and evaluation committees.”
Al-Mamouri promised “granting the authority to sell the state’s assets to the real estate department is a great deal,” pointing out that “the majority of MPs are against the clause of selling state assets.”
On the one hand, Al-Maamouri indicated that the British “Serco” company dominates the Iraqi air navigation, stressing that “no one knows the duties of the” Serco “company at Baghdad airport.
