Parliamentary Finance clarifies the possibility of reducing the dollar exchange rate in next year’s budget

On Thursday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee clarified the possibility of reducing the price of the dollar in next year’s budget.
Committee member Jamal Cougar said, “Finance is now holding meetings to prepare the budget for the next year, according to the Financial Management Law, which stipulates that the budget will be ready in October.”
Regarding the preparation of the budget for the next three years by the Ministry of Finance, even though it is a caretaker government, Cougar added, “The budget is prepared by the government and has nothing to do with being a caretaker or permanent.”
Cougar ruled out changing the dollar exchange rate in the next year’s budget at least, and explained, “Changing the exchange rate is a government decision, and also, the economic conditions have not ended yet, and therefore it is unlikely to reduce the dollar exchange rate.”
Yesterday, the Ministry of Finance held the fifth session to discuss the strategic budget for the next three years.
