Money continues to pour into Iraq with Japan just agreeing to a 100 million dollar loan. Sadr is stirring up the protesters again as they look for those much promised reforms and an end to corruption. Hard to imagine this isn’t our year.

What I am hearing now is that just recently the US ground forces coordinated with air support have taken over the operations of freeing western Mosul and are aggressively preparing to forward in the coming days, anticipating a completion in the very near future. …My source in Iraq has recently told me that the prime minister Abadi has recently made a speech on the Iraqi news channels. He stated that the completion…of the economic and financial reforms and the implementation of the Reconciliation law hinge now on the completion of this task at hand of fighting with ISIS.

The rates still stink, but at least we are in control – we are waiting for the rates to be what we want them to be, but we can choose to exchange. We are no longer waiting for permission although we are waiting for favorable conditions. Those conditions are not there today, but who knows what they will be tomorrow? Some banks have initiated foreign currency training programs to more employees: how to process those currencies, and what will take place during exchanges. The banks were sent a message telling them to get ready. We don’t know what is preventing forward motion – maybe waiting for Iraq to make their final move.

The best part is Abadi saying after his speech that Mosul will be liberated in record time, and then Abadi will come to DC. I believe that visit has already been scheduled… They are holding off on the National Reconciliation and full economic reforms so they can take place at the same time, after the complete liberation of Mosul. …I think we can go to the end of the week feeling rather good. This is our time, and we are just waiting for the right hour and day to do what we have been waiting for, to make it pay off.
