Today, Thursday, a member of Parliament, Asaad Al-Morshedy, confirmed that there are political and popular fears that no elections will be held in Iraq, among the reasons for that.
Al-Morshidi said, to “Eye of Iraq News”, that “there are political and popular concerns about not holding any elections in Iraq, neither early nor regular, due to the disruption of the Federal Supreme Court’s work. Without this court, no elections can be held, as it is the authorized party in Certification of the election results. ”
He indicated that “there are political parties working to obstruct the House of Representatives from voting to amend the Federal Court Law, until the quorum is completed for the court and its work resumes, so that no elections are held and the situation remains as it is currently, in order to preserve its influence.”
