Iraq and Saudi Arabia agree to launch flights from tomorrow

Iraq and Saudi Arabia agree to launch flights from tomorrowIraq and Saudi Arabia have agreed to operate flights starting tomorrow Wednesday in the inauguration of civil aviation between the two countries after stopping since the invasion of the former regime of Kuwait in 1990.
“The Minister of Transport Kazem Al-Hamami met with Saudi Ambassador to Iraq Abdul Aziz Al-Shammari to discuss the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of transport,” the ministry said in a statement.
“Within the framework of joint cooperation between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, a joint memorandum of understanding was signed between the two parties to regulate air transport services and provide all ground services to the Kingdom’s planes and vice versa,” Hammami said.
He stressed that “Iraq seeks openness to all countries of the world, especially regional,” noting that “there are common interests with the Saudi brothers and we are opening new horizons for cooperation in various areas of transport.”
He added that “it was agreed to fly from Saudi Arabia airports to Iraqi airports,” adding that “on Wednesday will see the landing of a plane,” NAS “Saudi Arabia at Baghdad International Airport, followed by another plane of Saudi ownership.
For his part, the Saudi side expressed its readiness to provide all service facilities through its airports as well as agreed on regular scheduled flights to Iraqi Airways to Jeddah, Madinah and Dammam airports.
