The political analyst, Sabah Al-Akeli, saw that the dismissal of the central bank governor, Mustafa Makhaif, and the reinstatement of Ali Al-Alaq to this position had a positive impact on controlling the exchange rate and taking measures in favor of monetary policy.
Al-Agaili said to Al-Maalouma, that “monetary policy and financial procedures were not at the required level during the era of the former central bank governor, Mustafa Makhaif, as many problems occurred, which prompted Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani to return Ali Al-Alaq to this position after the failure that accompanied the administration of Makhaif. over the past period.”
He added that “weak procedures during the era of the former governor, mismanagement and failure were behind the high exchange rate to large numbers, as it is part of the financial problem that occurred in Iraq.”
And he indicated that “the governor of the central bank who was brought in during Al-Kazemi’s era was not successful in managing the central bank, as the Sudanese government took a step in the right direction when replacing him and started moving and taking measures to control the exchange rate.”
