Disclosure of the details of the cabinets decision to zero-duty fees on postal parcels[Baghdad-Where]

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers revealed, on Thursday, the details of the Cabinet’s decision to zero fees on postal parcels for citizens.
The secretariat said in a statement, that “in order to reduce the burden on citizens and their reluctance to transport by government mail, the Cabinet decided to zero fees for the sums of a number of postage stamps and the fees for inspecting parcels.”
She added, “The Council of Ministers decided to reduce the amount of the stamp of the national campaign to build schools and kindergartens, and to draw the stamp for customs fees on postal parcels, based on the provisions of Article (37) of the Stamp Fee Law (71 of 2012). The decision also included exempting the Ministry of Financial inspection fees for postal parcels that are collected according to the customs decree (4 of 2011) amended by the customs decision (2 of 2016) and the same for the fees for the price of baggage data.
She indicated, “The decision came based on what was presented by the Ministries of Communications and Finance, during its second regular session, held on 01/12/2021.”
