Representative for State of Law, Kata Al-Rikabi, said on Sunday that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s visit to America continues the second round of the strategic dialogue with Washington.
Al-Rikabi said, “The visit is a continuation of the discussions that took place between the Iraqi delegation and the American delegation more than a month ago, and there was an agreement to resume a second round of dialogue in Washington.”
He added, “The visit comes in the light of discussions that took place in June with the American delegation and the starting point was (the Strategic Framework Agreement),” indicating that “several changes have occurred since the signing of the agreement in 2008, most notably the Parliament’s decision to expel foreign forces, including the US, from Iraq, which is the main and important axis. Which will be discussed between the Iraqi and American delegations. ”
Al-Rikabi pointed out that “the conflict between states on the land of Iraq is responsible for Iraq, which must not allow others to override its sovereignty and security, stressing that fortifying the internal situation will restrain all those who violate Iraqi sovereignty.”
