The Decisive Alliance revealed that the presidency of Parliament was decided for the candidate, Salem Al-Issawi, while indicating that Shaalan Al-Karim’s withdrawal solved the problem.
The coalition spokesman, Salah Al-Kubaisi, said in an interview with the Twenty program broadcast on Al-Sumaria TV, “The Taqaddum Party will lose its audience and only nine members will remain among its representatives.”
He added, “Salem Al-Issawi will assume the position of Presidency of the House of Representatives, and an agreement has been reached with the Shiite partners,” noting that “The Decisive Alliance has two deputies, and 5 of those who advanced will join with him during the next week.”
He believed that “Shaalan Al-Karim’s withdrawal solved the problem and advanced without having a presidential candidate.”
Al-Kubaisi ruled out, “Parliament making an amendment to Article 12 of its bylaws,” and concluded, “There is progress that is trying to plunge Iraq into a political crisis, and their seats are constantly decreasing.”
