Because of the dollars rise human rights appeal to the governmentToday, Friday, the High Commission for Human Rights in Iraq sent a request to the Iraqi government after the increase in the exchange rate of the US dollar against the Iraqi dinar.

A member of the Commission, Fadel Al-Gharawi, said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, “Fragile groups and people with limited income have been greatly affected by the government’s policy in raising the price of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar, which caused a significant increase in the prices of citizens’ living materials.”

He added, “The Iraqi citizen is exposed to many crises on a daily basis, whether with the lack of services, the lack of electricity and the health, educational and environmental repercussions, with the lack of job opportunities and the low incomes of citizens, especially those with limited income.”

Al-Gharawi added, “The continuing rise in prices and the citizen’s inability to meet his living needs calls us to ask the government to compensate citizens directly from the emergency budget, with a reality for the damage they have suffered due to this rise.”
