An Iraqi politician expects the elections to be postponed and canceled - a prelude to the outbreak of the drawn civil warShafaq News/ The prominent Iraqi politician, Izzat al-Shabandar, expected on Tuesday to postpone the legislative elections scheduled for next October and then cancel them to prepare for what he called the outbreak of a civil war in the country.

Shabandar said in a statement posted on social media platforms “Twitter”, “With the aim of postponing the elections and then canceling them, we will witness more bombings, fires and assassinations to plunge Iraq into the furnace of conflicting interests and wills in preparation for the outbreak of the (drawn) civil war.”

Shabandar called “the Iraqi government and the religious and political authorities to assume their responsibilities before the disaster.”
