Shafaq News/ Informed Iraqi political sources revealed, today, Saturday, that a meeting of the Iraqi political forces had been held to discuss the latest developments in the crisis of the rise in the dollar exchange rate in the local market.
The sources told Shafaq News agency, “Today, all political blocs and parties will hold an important meeting in the capital, Baghdad, in the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani and Speaker of Parliament Muhammad al-Halbousi, in order to discuss the latest developments in the crisis of the dollar exchange rate hike in the local market, And the results of the meeting of the Central Bank of Iraq with the US Federal Reserve in Istanbul.
And the sources indicated, “The meeting will come out with unified decisions and recommendations aimed at supporting government measures that seek to control the exchange rate of the dollar in the local market.”
Yesterday, Friday, the Central Bank of Iraq announced the conclusion of its meetings with the US Treasury Department in Istanbul, and indicated that Washington had expressed its readiness for the necessary flexibility to achieve “common goals.”
After the Istanbul meeting, the dollar exchange rates fell “significantly” on the Iraqi stock exchanges.
