(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Kurdistan Regional Government has expressed its willingness to deposit the amount of 250 thousand barrels per day of the region’s oil in the Iraqi state’s treasury.
The official spokesman for the Kurdistan government, Gutiar Adel, said in a press statement that “this visit comes at an appropriate and important time, since the two parties are currently negotiating about the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad,” indicating that “the region has always expressed keenness to find solutions to the outstanding issues with the federal government,” And that since the Prime Minister of the Territory Government, Masrour Barzani, formed his government, he visited Baghdad during the previous government headed by Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi, where serious discussions took place between the two sides, where it was agreed on a joint cooperation framework regarding the budget law, but unfortunately the previous government resigned and then it was formed during Last May, the Al-Kazemi government, which the region expressed its support for this government.
Adel explained that “this visit is happening for the first time in terms of being discussing all the outstanding issues, especially that Al-Kazemi visited the Dohuk Governorate within the region and inspected the Ibrahim Al-Khalil border crossing, as well as other places in addition to that he will visit Sulaymaniyah on Friday.”
Regarding the files that Al-Kazemi is discussing with the Kurdish leadership, Adel affirmed that “the most prominent files are the budget, the file of the disputed areas, the file of the Peshmerga and other files,” noting that “there is progress in the negotiation file, but there is still a long way to go, as we started from where the prime minister ended up.” Previous Adel Abdul Mahdi on the level of mutual understanding on the budget. ”
Adel expressed his optimism “in terms of the positive atmosphere that governs the course of negotiations between Baghdad and Erbil, which would help in reaching common points and understandings.”
Regarding the budget law and the legislative and executive process, it “still needs mutual understandings and coordination between the two parties, in addition to the support of the political forces in order to achieve justice between the two parties.”
Adel revealed that the region is ready to “deposit the amount of 250 thousand barrels per day of oil in the Iraqi state’s treasury, and according to the constitution, the border crossings are managed jointly between the federal and regional governments and there are many issues that still affect the two parties, which is the continuation of the financial crisis.” .
He pointed out that “there is a positive atmosphere during this visit, which we hope will be reflected in the course of the talks between the two sides, with regard to all files, and the most important for us is to emphasize the importance of adhering to the constitution, because it is the basic guarantee in achieving justice for both parties.”
