A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mustafa Khalil, told Al-Maalouma, “The work of the Finance Committee is now suspended, and a press conference will be held in the event that the budget is not sent from the Presidency of Parliament to the Finance Committee in order to complete the amendments in preparation for approval, as its stay in the office of the Speaker of Parliament will delay passing it,” pointing out that “Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi continues to monopolize power and decisions through many political positions, as the budget is now in al-Halbousi’s office and is discussed by members of his office and advisors before sending it to the relevant committees in order to prepare reports of its acceptance or return to the parliament.
