After his message to Al-Sistani .. Allawi seeks help from BidenShafaq News/ The leader of the Civil National Front, Iyad Allawi, warned on Saturday of “serious” security disturbances threatening the Middle East and the world, calling on US President Joe Biden to intervene to stop this deterioration.

Allawi said in a letter he addressed to the US President, received by Shafak News Agency, that “there are serious disturbances that threaten security and stability in the region and the world at large, which requires immediate and objective analysis and calls for us to conduct a comprehensive review of these situations.”

Allawi pointed out that “Iraq, although it represents a small part of the current global challenge, but it is the flash point for the Asian region and others and has a great impact on security and stability in the world, so it needs special treatments.”

He added, “At the same time, it is important and necessary for the United States of America to restore its credibility and maintain its global leadership position, after its exit from the region and Afghanistan and the devastation it caused in Iraq harmed its concept as a reliable ally.”

Allawi pointed out that “sending reliable envoys to the region would support the possibility of achieving effective and good governance in Iraq and the region, and would be able to restore confidence in the electoral process and increase voter turnout on a large scale.”

He stressed that “it is wise to support the constitutional amendments that include articles on human rights and basic citizen’s rights, as well as the principles of promoting good governance and enacting the necessary laws such as the oil and gas revenue sharing law.”

Last Wednesday, Allawi sent a letter to the supreme religious authority, Ali al-Sistani, in which he called on him to intervene in solving Iraq’s problems, and also asked him to repeat the Friday sermon.

The official spokesman for the Front, Laila Abdel Latif, said in a statement received by Shafak News Agency, that “Allawi indicated to His Eminence in his message that Iraq is in a dire state due to the problems and disputes that plague it and threaten its entity,” noting that “the defeat, retreat and fragmentation did not hurt.” The Shiite house, rather, it encroaches on the Sunni and Kurdish sides.”

Allawi called on the religious authority to “take effective and effective steps to move the internal climate from a state of tension and tension to a state of calm and national consensus,” calling for a repeat of the Friday sermon to direct the parish with what is necessary to solve problems through meaningful dialogue.
