Suhaila Al-Sultani, a representative of the Sadikoun Parliamentary Bloc, explained the most important thing that prevents the government from settling the budget and submitting it to the House of Representatives for a vote on it.
Al-Sultani told Al-Maaloma, “The Federal Court made it clear to everyone and decided its decision not to grant the region any amounts from the federal government, unless Erbil pays its revenues in favor of Baghdad.”
And she added, “The revenue file represents one of the important files that the political parties are working to resolve between the center and the region, as Kurdistan must hand it over to Baghdad, which delays the government’s resolution of the budget file.”
And she indicated that “the Kurds are required to resolve the outstanding issues with Baghdad in order to proceed with the legislation of the budget law, as it is not possible to deviate from the constitution and the law in such files, especially since the Federal Court said its word in this regard and its decision is binding on all.”
