{Baghdad: Al Furat News} A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Ahmed Hajj Rashid, revealed three important changes in the draft fiscal budget law for 2021.
“We are awaiting the arrival of the financial budget bill from the government,” Rashid said.
He stressed, “There have been 3 changes in the budget, which are the increase in the price of fuel by 20%, and the change of 8 types of allocations in the salaries of employees in addition to raising the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar by 17%.”
It is noteworthy that the Council of Ministers held an extraordinary session yesterday, Saturday, to discuss the 2021 budget bill and decided to complete it on Sunday amid weights for its approval today.
The Central Bank of Iraq had raised the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar to 1470 dinars for the public and 1460 dinars for the banks participating in the currency auction.
The decision caused concern and fear among Iraqis, especially employees, of high prices, and had already negatively affected the movement of commercial centers and important markets such as Shorja and Jameela Alwa in Baghdad.
