Legal expert Raqiah Al-Khazali confirmed, on Sunday, that the paper of the largest bloc and the lists of representatives in it were submitted to the President of the Republic after his election for the purpose of assigning her to form the government.
Khazali said in a statement to “Al-Maalouma” that “the Presidency of the House of Representatives does not have the authority to name the largest bloc, and the paper of the largest bloc must be handed over to the President of the Republic after his election.”
She added that “the most numerous bloc is named by the elected president of the republic, and the candidate of the bloc will then be assigned to head the next government,” stressing that “the largest bloc is not necessarily the electorally winning bloc, but rather it is the most numerous in parliament.”
