A political bloc confirmed, on Sunday, that 80% of the members of the House of Representatives support the option of a third round to end the presidential deadlock.
The head of the Bayariq Al-Khair bloc, Muhammad Al-Khalidi, said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “Some Sunni forces bear the burden of delaying the resolution of the Parliament presidency issue for known reasons centered on purely political interests, without considering that the position is a component entitlement and must proceed with resolving it due to the existence of important legislation.”
He added that “80% of the representatives support the option of proceeding with the third round to end the presidential deadlock,” stressing that “according to the latest information, the differences are still the master of the situation.”
He pointed out that “the framework forces want a unified Sunni decision, and this is very difficult. Otherwise, the position of the Speaker of Parliament will remain managed by proxy until further notice.”
It is noteworthy that the Sunni-Sunni differences still cast their shadows on resolving this knot, despite the presentation of more than one vision for solutions.
