Former Pentagon advisor Douglas MacGregor considered it shameful that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken needed to wear a bulletproof vest during his visit to Iraq.
“Blinken wore a bulletproof vest during his visit to Iraq,” he wrote. “It is truly a real shame that our Secretary of State would, under any circumstances, be exposed to such a threat anywhere in the world.”
Iraqis burned pictures of US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a massive demonstration with the participation of thousands of followers of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, last Sunday, in protest against Blinken’s visit to Iraq.
The demonstrators chanted slogans denouncing the visit of the US Secretary of State, and chanted in defense of Palestine.
