The deficit financing law ignites Kurdish disputes in Iraqi Kurdistan and Sulaymaniyah contemplates secession Pratha News Agency 85On Thursday, a Kurdish political source revealed that there are major differences between the Patriotic Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, after the parliament voted on the financing of the deficit law.

The source said, “The National Union and its leadership headed by the co-chair of the party, Lahore Sheikh Genki, began thinking about proposing an administrative separation project for Sulaymaniyah from the Kurdistan region.”

He added, “The National Union believes that the regional government adheres to its opinion and does not want to hand over oil to the federal government, and therefore the Kurdish citizen will be the victim, because he will not receive his salary for this month.”

He pointed out that “the Sulaymaniyah and Halabja region will be projected again, and the issue will be used as a means of pressure, while the leadership of the National Union is considering submitting a request to the federal government to link the salaries of employees in the two governorates in Baghdad directly without returning to the regional government.”

The House of Representatives voted, at dawn today, Thursday, on a bill to finance the fiscal deficit after disagreements and deliberations with the Kurdish blocs.
